On the day that I die

On the day that I die…

  • the work in my inbox will mount up and go unanswered.

  • all the important appointments I had will be unattended.

-The journeys I had yet to make will stay unfinished.

  • The grudges I held won’t matter anymore.

  • All of my mistakes will be left in the past.

  • My imperfections that glared at me in my mirror won’t sting anymore.

  • The messes I made will be for others to clean up.

  • A few people may celebrate that the old S.O.B is gone.

Also on the day I die, the people who love me may grieve, light candles and say prayers.  Some might feel shock, a few may feel that a part of them has also died. Having lived a 1/2 century, I know that this is exactly what will happen when I die.

What I do not know however, is how the time I still have will unfold. The seconds that tick by each day.  I’ll try not to waste them on worrying about things outside my control, not let the worries of the future rob me of the joys of today.

Life is happening in this very moment. It is uncontainable and ever fleeting.  After all whether we are rich, poor, man or woman we all only get so much time.

I’m dedicated to not miss it so on that day, my last day, I will have no regrets!
