César Chavez day

For those of us with families whose American dream meant hard work in California’s fields, César Chávez holds a special place.  His hard fought battles for human rights, fair wages, and decency for campesinos forever changed the future for so many.

This week we honor that work. We remember. We collectively recognize where we came from and that there are many people just like us, who today work in those very same fields.  For them and us, his legacy lives on.
