His-Story

Today my client recounted his life in a deposition. There was a rough childhood fighting to survive on the tough streets of Stockton.  There was a love novela; a marriage consummated in youth that lasted 30+ years.   There was triumph; a kid with odds stacked against him, who overcame them, became a construction contractor in a successful business and thrived.  There was tragedy; a terrible accident.

Sitting there next to him I examined the legal issues outlined on my yellow pad.  Liability- check, Medical treatment-check, Damages-check,  knowing my client?

Check.

It's easy to get wrapped up in the legal details of a case.  Today I am reminded that every client has a story.  A unique set of events that brought him or her to my office.  I get to hear them all.  I am thankful for the trust that my clients place in my office.
