Goal!!

As I watch the back and forth rhythms of World Cup soccer it occurs to me that fútbol and litigation have many similarities .  Timing of strikes on the opponent, spacing and pace of movement, exploiting your rivals strengths and weaknesses, having the correct players in position to press the action and more.  It’s all part of an over arching strategy for winning games and moving forward in the world’s largest tournament.

And so it is on the competitive playing fields of law. One error can mean you’re back on defense trying to defend against attack, a careless mistake can bring out the yellow card of a Judge’s penalties against you and your client.

As I work in my office with a game playing in the background I can hear the announcer detailing the frenetic action…Borrego law with a clear shot, he passes the last defender, he lines it up, shoots, gooooaaaal!
